Bug responsible for ferryboat breakdowns

In England, a ferryboat suffered a malfunction caused by a software problem.

The boat that runs between Cowes and East Cowes on the Isle of Wight has since been taken out of service, and according to Cowes Island Council itself, the ferry should remain so, being replaced by another service. This is an important means of transportation for the residents of this region, since when this means of transportation is inoperative, it forces a 12-mile (19 km) detour through Newport.
This ferryboat cost more than 3 million pounds and its breakdowns and problems have been a constant since it entered service in 2017.
